Jordan Hope was driving past a Walgreens in Maricopa when he saw an older man, known to him as Mister Roy, struggling with badly worn shoes.

Hope pulled over, took off his own sneakers and gave them to him. FOX 10 reported that Hope was 18 and had recently graduated from high school.

A bystander, Yareli Madrid, witnessed the exchange and shared a post about it. FOX 10 later spoke with both Madrid and Hope, who said he had not realized anyone had seen the moment.

Hope later started a fundraiser for Mister Roy. By the time FOX 10 published its report on October 11, it had raised more than $15,000.
