On October 13, the Tanzania Institute of Education officially disseminated 4,000 copies of four books for children ages 5 to 12.
The books were developed with UNESCO’s financial and technical support through the Building Strong Foundations Initiative. They cover nutrition, mental health, personal safety, healthy relationships, and prevention of violence and abuse.
The institute has uploaded the books to its online library. UNESCO also reported that a computer server was handed over to help strengthen the system teachers use for continuing professional development.
The institute has committed to expanding the books’ distribution to primary schools across Tanzania. That broader rollout is planned, not yet reported as complete.
