Victoria’s government approved the Warracknabeal Energy Park on October 15. The proposal includes 219 wind turbines with generation capacity of more than 1.5 gigawatts, alongside battery storage.
The state estimates that once complete, the project could supply electricity for up to 1.2 million homes. It also anticipates almost 950 jobs during construction.
The approval is a step toward the project, not a sign that the turbines are already operating. The government’s announcement does not say whether construction has begun.
