The Philippines’ Department of Education is working with more than 170 leaders from government, industry, and other economic sectors to strengthen workplace learning for senior high school students.
The new approach will give students structured training plans, hands-on mentoring, and industry assessments connected to national skills certificates.
Partner organizations have already committed about 31,000 work-immersion slots. That is more than 60 percent of the department’s 50,000-slot target across more than 1,100 types of jobs, The Philippine Star reported.
The aim is to help students leave school with a better sense of how their learning connects to real work, further study, and future opportunities.
