A four-year-old pit bull named Rosie was chained to a van being used as a home on Los Angeles’s Skid Row when the vehicle caught fire on September 24.
FOX 11 reported that a person threw a flammable object into the van. A stranger ran toward the fire and used bolt cutters to get Rosie free.
Rosie’s owner, Clara Catron, told the station that her dog is her companion and has helped protect her before. The dog survived the fire.
The incident is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Animal Services. For one frightened dog and the person who loves her, the quick action of a stranger made all the difference.
