Young volunteers spent September 1 preparing and serving meals to 200 children at the Wits University Volunteers Centre in Johannesburg.

The Sharing Kindness Foundation organised the outreach, while vegetables donated by Alberton LewenSentrum Gemeente helped make the meal possible.

The volunteers gave their time to a very practical kind of care: cooking, serving, and making sure children had something nourishing to eat.

A shared meal does more than fill a plate. It tells people that their neighbours have noticed them and are willing to help.
