Delta Township and Waverly Community Schools opened a new Senior and Activity Center at the former Colt Elementary School on October 13.
The partners have worked since 2023 to give the old school building a new dual purpose and create a more accessible place for local seniors to gather.
Township leaders said the previous enrichment center had structural problems, high repair costs and space that was difficult for some people to access.
At the ribbon-cutting, Waverly Schools Superintendent Glenn Mitcham described the new center as a warm, inviting place for seniors to connect. Guests were able to tour the facility.
