Emily Haubner, a former elementary teacher in Clinton, Illinois, periodically puts jars and vases of flowers on her front walk with a sign inviting people to take them for free.

She also shares photos in local Facebook groups so more neighbors know when flowers are available. Anyone passing by can take a bouquet home.

Haubner told The Clinton Journal that she began sharing flowers after noticing how much joy they brought her. Her young son joins her in picking and arranging the blooms.

Recipients have sent Haubner thank-you messages and pictures of where they placed the flowers. She hopes to keep sharing them whenever she has blooms to spare.
