Brown University announced on October 8 that it will waive its undergraduate application fee for seniors at Providence public high schools.
The $80 waiver applies to students at the Providence Public School District's 12 high schools and more than 10 additional public and charter high schools in the city.
Eligible students can use the waiver through the Common Application when applying for fall 2027 admission. It covers both early decision and regular decision applications.
Brown says the waiver is part of its commitment to supporting students in its home city. The new policy removes the application charge, while students still need to complete the rest of the admissions process.
