Employees from Humana Louisiana spent part of their morning volunteering at the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.

The group built boxes, filled them with food, and organized donations as part of the company's Community Day, according to local station WBRZ.

A food box is a simple thing, but it can make a real difference to someone deciding how to stretch a household budget. The volunteers chose to spend their workday making sure more of those boxes were ready to go.

The effort also connected food support with health. A Humana representative told WBRZ that food, child care, and transportation can all affect whether people are able to get the care they need.
