Carol Parsons, 81, of Barboursville, West Virginia, is known to her family for noticing when someone could use a hand. Her son Michael told WSAZ that she stops to help drivers with broken-down cars, pays for groceries for people who need help, and bakes favorite foods for others.
Michael, who lives with a developmental disability, said his mother has supported him throughout his life and still comes by when he is sick.
Parsons said she sees caring for her son and other people as part of her purpose. Her story is a portrait of the small, practical ways one person can make others feel remembered.
