What every feature includes
Each feature follows the same structure so that readers know what to expect:
- What happened: the verified development, drawn from primary sources.
- Why it matters: who benefits, and how.
- The wider picture: relevant history, data and comparisons, including whether the approach could work elsewhere.
- What remains unresolved: limitations, uncertainty and barriers.
- What happens next: the next milestone, where one is known.
- Sources: links to the evidence.
Facts, analysis and quotes
We report what our sources establish and link to them. Our own analysis is labelled. Quotes appear only as published by the person or organisation quoted, or by the outlet that reported them, and we name that outlet. We do not invent quotes, figures or projections. Longer does not mean padded: we would rather publish fewer features than lower the standard.
Coverage around the world
We aim to cover every continent, Antarctica included, and to rotate countries within each region. We look for local reporting and the people directly involved, and we try not to reduce any region to a single kind of story.
Our images
The magazine uses photorealistic illustrations created with AI. Each one is labelled where it appears: AI-generated illustration; not a photograph of the reported event. We use illustrations to give a sense of the setting, never as evidence. We do not create likenesses of named people, or images that claim to show the actual event, result or place reported.
