On October 2, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs released $160 million to support people affected by 12 of the world’s most underfunded crises.

The largest share, $150 million from the Central Emergency Response Fund, was allocated across Afghanistan, the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Chad, Cameroon and Cuba.

Another $10 million is set aside to help people with disabilities access humanitarian assistance. The UN Global Disability Fund will add up to $4 million in funding and technical support.

UN relief chief Tom Fletcher said roads and borders must remain open so aid can reach people who need it. The funding adds resources, while the work to secure access continues.
