When smoke filled a two-storey home in Stanthorpe, Queensland, five children were trapped inside. A passing stranger ran into the house again and again, bringing the children out one by one.The children included three-year-old triplets and their four- and five-year-old siblings. Their mother had escaped through a second-storey window, while an 80-year-old neighbor rushed over after hearing the children crying.Another neighbor broke a window with a shovel, and the older man used a garden hose to help hold back the fire. Queensland Fire and Rescue said the neighbors’ quick actions helped keep the blaze contained to the central stairwell before crews arrived.Paramedics treated the children at the scene and took them to Stanthorpe Hospital. The passerby, believed to be a man in his 40s wearing a white hat, left before emergency services arrived, and authorities are still hoping to identify him so they can thank him.
