South Korea's Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment has proposed a 2027 budget of 25.7319 trillion won, an 18.3 percent increase from this year's budget.
The plan includes more financing for solar panels on factory roofs and at four designated types of sites. It also sets aside new support for household solar and building solar projects.
The proposal includes 544 billion won in loans for factory rooftop solar, 382 billion won for solar at four policy sites, and a new 75 billion won subsidy program for household solar.
The ministry also plans to increase funding for renewable-energy research, including work on key renewable technologies and a new Korean power-grid project.
