Socorro Independent School District announced its Virtual Academy pilot on October 7, offering a full-time online option for Texas public school students in grades 9 to 12.
Students will enroll in Socorro ISD, complete coursework online and earn credits toward a Socorro ISD diploma.
The district says students will have support from its educators. Edgenuity will provide the digital curriculum, while Schoology will be used for assignments, grades and communication.
The first pilot group is expected to include up to 50 students. Applications will be reviewed in the order received, and applying does not guarantee acceptance.
