When a 44-year-old woman became pinned beneath a Volkswagen Beetle after an e-bike crash in Prospect Park, Pennsylvania, people nearby heard her call for help and ran toward the car.
Amelia Cannon of Nolet Home Care Agency tried to lift the vehicle, and neighbors joined her. FedEx driver Karl Wise also helped raise the car and pull the woman free while Christine Vollmer called 911.
The woman was taken to a hospital with chest injuries and was reported to be in stable condition. Police credited the group’s fast response with helping save her life.
No special equipment brought the neighbors together. They saw someone in trouble, and they used their strength as a team.
