Dave Persaud has volunteered for three years at FoodCycle Milton Keynes Wolverton, where volunteers turn surplus food into a weekly free three-course meal, according to local broadcaster MKFM.
Persaud takes on the behind-the-scenes jobs. He sets tables, washes dishes, makes tea, cleans up and sorts recycling.
FoodCycle named him its East regional winner in the 2026 Volunteer of the Year Awards after fellow volunteers nominated him. His steady work is one of the many contributions that help the community meal run week after week.
