For her 42nd birthday, Keturah Reed decided to support the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank after a friend mentioned holding a birthday fundraiser for a cause.
Reed set up a Team WeFeedLA fundraiser and made three short videos with footage supplied by the food bank to encourage donations.
The food bank says Reed raised $1,000, enough to provide roughly 4,000 meals for neighbors facing hunger in Los Angeles County.
Reed said she chose the organization because she sees people experiencing homelessness and knows the food bank helps provide them with food.
