Piper Cate Pressly and Addison King spent part of their weekend volunteering at the Jones County Community Closet in North Carolina.
The closet thanked the two students for giving their time on a Sunday to help serve local residents. County officials also praised them for showing kindness, compassion, and a willingness to step up.
The Community Closet collects donated clothing and makes it available at no cost through pop-up shopping events. It can also help families facing urgent situations such as a house fire or sudden displacement.
Organizers are inviting other students to volunteer too. They can verify service hours for young people who need them, but the larger reward is simpler: helping a neighbor find something they need.
