The Association of Ibusa Professional Women, working with the Ibusa Association in the United States, organized a three-day community program in Ibusa and nearby areas, The Nation reported on October 5.
The free medical outreach offered consultations, vital-signs checks, blood-sugar tests, eye screening and cancer screening. Residents who needed them received medicines and eyeglasses at no cost.
The wider program also included a mental-health seminar and the distribution of wheelchairs to people with disabilities, alongside talks for girls about education and career choices.
The report says more residents attended than organizers expected. It does not reconcile the different attendance totals it gives, so this draft does not assign a single beneficiary count.
