The U.S. State Department announced nearly $2 billion in planned partnerships with faith-based and community organizations for global health and humanitarian work.
$1.4 billion under the America First Global Health Strategy is intended to support hospitals and clinics in more than 20 countries.
A World Vision consortium could receive up to $850 million over five years, subject to available funds, to strengthen more than 2,500 hospitals, clinics, and community hubs across 17 countries.
The plan also includes training, paying, and equipping more than 30,000 community health workers, plus $538 million in intended humanitarian awards that could reach 7 million people across 16 crises.
