In Pala, southwestern Chad, families gathered at the EGTH school courtyard for the second instalment of school grants for vulnerable girls.The support is part of the Chad School Reform Programme, known as PRET. It helps reduce the cost of schooling so girls can enrol, keep learning, and move from primary school into lower secondary education.The programme aims to support 25,000 girls in 318 schools across nine provinces. It is being carried out by Chad’s Ministry of National Education, Bilingualism and Civic Promotion with UNICEF and other partners.For families facing financial and social pressures, a school grant can make the difference between a girl leaving school and a girl getting to continue.
