Word and Life Foundation held its annual street shower in the parking lot of the Brakpan EMPD offices on October 3, according to a report published by Brakpan Herald on October 8.
People could receive a hot shower, clean clothes and toiletries, as well as haircuts, manicures and a health screening. Organizers also offered food, drinks and emotional support.
The event was supported by Worthy Ministries and local sponsors. The newspaper named community members who helped with the personal-care and meal stations.
Organizers said participants look forward to the annual gathering. The report gave no attendance figure, so the scale of the event remains unquantified.
