The Australian Renewable Energy Agency announced a new $30 million Launchpad program on September 16 to help early-stage clean-energy companies develop their ideas.
The program has two parts. One will offer $15 million in competitive grants to startups, with awards of up to $1 million for projects that need extra capital. The other will support organizations that help young climate businesses grow.
ARENA expects the startup stream to support between 15 and 30 companies. The agency said the program is meant to close an early funding gap that can keep useful technologies from moving beyond the idea stage.
The goal is practical: give more Australian innovators a chance to test, improve, and bring lower-emission solutions into the real world.
