One client, identified in the report as Miss D, is bedridden and relies on her washing machine. When the machine stopped working, she could not afford to replace it.
Pollitz asked her brother, Mark Pollitz, an appliance industry representative, to take a look. He confirmed that the washer could not be repaired, then contacted Timm Watson of Pioneer Appliance.
Watson donated a new Amana washer. A small request from one volunteer became a team effort that gave a homebound neighbor back an essential part of daily life.
