Two new public preschools opened in Queanbeyan, New South Wales, on August 21, giving local families access to fee-free early learning in the year before children start school.
Queanbeyan East Public Preschool and Queanbeyan South Public Preschool can each welcome up to 80 children each week. Both have two learning spaces, staff facilities and outdoor play areas.
Qualified early-childhood teachers and School Learning Support Officers will lead play-based programs at the preschools. Families can contact either school to ask about enrolling.
The openings are the fourth and fifth new public preschools in the state's plan to build 100 across New South Wales by early 2027. More places are also being built in nearby communities.
