On September 1, volunteers built a custom pink-and-purple playset in Katelyn Madison’s backyard in Penfield, New York.
Katelyn, who is two years old, was diagnosed with a rare type of leukemia in February. She is now in remission, although she remains immunocompromised.
The Roc Solid Foundation, a pediatric cancer nonprofit, teamed up with GuidePoint Security to make Katelyn’s dream of having a playset at home come true.
Because treatment can keep children away from public playgrounds, a private place to play can bring a little more fun and normal childhood time close to home.
