Alberta’s government is investing more than $38 million in community grants through Budget 2026. The money is divided between the Community Facility Enhancement Program and the Community Initiatives Program.

The larger program will provide $25 million for community facilities, while $13.6 million will support community initiatives. Together, the programs usually back more than 700 projects each year.

The grants can help non-profits improve public spaces, run local programs, and respond to needs identified by the people they serve. Supported work can include arts, culture, heritage, recreation, and community well-being.

The funding can also support practical services for families, efforts to prevent gender-based violence, and programs that help women take part in the workforce.
